Primeo Energie, based in Münchenstein, is a Swiss energy provider with over 600 employees. To achieve its goals of operating a CO2-optimized vehicle fleet, the company is now using autoSense's fleet solution.

Starting position

Primeo Energie operates a fleet of 185 vehicles connected to autoSense FleetPro. It includes 15 cars, which are available to the staff as pool vehicles.

The pool vehicles have so far been managed via a physical agenda. Use differentiations by cost center, project or private use were only possible in a very rudimentary way. Journey control using a physical logbook in the vehicle was also outdated and inefficient. The use transparency of company vehicles without pool use was also completely absent. The lack of facts therefore made it difficult to decide on Primeo Energie's future mobility strategy.

Solution and procedure

In an extended test phase, the intended case was examined in detail with selected vehicles as a first step. After a positive result, the implementation of the autoSense FleetPro solution, including pool car management, was gradually started in the first quarter of 2021. Initially with the 15 pool vehicles and the associated approximately 200 authorized users. The remaining company vehicles followed in the second step.

The new pool car management was quickly appreciated by employees. Bookings via Outlook emails or agenda entries written by hand, as well as keeping paper logbooks, are now a thing of the past and travel expenses can be seamlessly assigned to the associated cost centers. In the future, spontaneous bookings of pool cars should also be possible — simply via mobile phone and QR code directly on the vehicle.

In the case of non-pool vehicles, it can now be ensured that, in the event of operational interruptions, e.g. due to a power failure, via the network control center and the map module in FleetPro, the vehicle or team closest to the place of operation can be located.

“Working with autoSense was pleasant and very professional throughout the project phase”,

remembers Markus Kuster - Head of Purchasing and Logistics at Primeo Energie.

“On our input, some requests could even be integrated into the software in advance of the go-live appointment. In the post-project phase, autoSense is always available to answer any questions we may have. Be it questions about a system function that is not yet used to or questions about adjustment and evaluation.”

Primeo Energie relies on a CO₂-optimized vehicle fleet

“Thanks to the autoSense solution and the key figures that can be determined, we are taking a big step closer to this goal”,

according to Markus Kuster.

“We will systematically find vehicles that, due to the mileage, can easily be replaced by an electric vehicle,”

adds Markus Kuster.

In the case of diesel vehicles, areas of application and frequency of use are being scrutinized in particular. Whenever possible, these vehicles are then gradually removed from the fleet and replaced by more environmentally friendly models.

How is fleetPro received by employees?

In particular, the simple booking process for pool vehicles is particularly well received by employees. But also the electronic logbook solution and transparency about which vehicles are currently available.

On the administrative side, the simple and quick solution for internal onward billing to the various business areas is particularly appreciated.
