Act 1: The start of the holiday must be earned

Dominik Schneider works as a lawyer in a renowned law firm and is confronted with a new case by his boss. That bothers him because he already has a lot to do. When he is annoyed by the extra work, his partner Karin reminds him that they must have the car checked in the garage before their planned winter vacation. Karin organises the household and has a strong sense of responsibility.

They have two children, Mia and Liam. Although Karin became a mother at a young age, Dominik doesn't mind. Mia is now a young woman and lives in a shared flat with her roommates, while she only visits her parents on weekends.

Dominik calls the garage to make an appointment to check the car. He remembers that the service man recommended that he do this directly via the autoSense app instead of hanging on hold on the phone. He uses the app to book the appointment and is relieved that it works so smoothly.

He then packs the case, which he received from his boss, into his backpack and leaves the office. In the underground car park, he sits in his car, a Skoda Enyaq, and notices that he needs to charge his electric vehicle promptly. He drives to the next charging station shown in the autoSense app and uses the app to start charging and pay. He is impressed by the technological development and is pleased with the convenience.

Act 2: A journey that is funny

Karin shouts “Hop, hop, everyone in!” and the kids Mia and Liam sit in the car. They're spreading, but Karin reminds them to leave room for Eli, her older half-sister. Eli comes from Karin's previous relationship and will join her on this journey. Mia and Liam are looking forward to Eli as she always plays fun games with them, especially the game “Play Flügerlis” where Eli whirls them through the air.

Dominik asks if everyone is wearing seat belts, and when the children confirm this, Karin takes over the wheel. Dominik has a surprise for the kids and asks about their iPads. Mia and Liam have their old iPads with them, and Dominik reveals that they now have WiFi in the car and can watch videos. Karin is surprised and asks how it works. Dominik explains that the AutoSense adapter can establish a 4G connection to create a hotspot for the iPads. Karin is skeptical, but Dominik calms her down and says that it is only used while driving.

Karin starts the car, and they set off to pick up Eli. Eli is already standing on the side of the road and has her luggage and skiing equipment with her. She had trouble finding her ski boots for a short time, but her mother didn't notice that. After everything is stowed away, Eli gets into the car and the children greet her warmly.

When everyone is ready, Dominik shows Karin the autoSense app and explains how they can collect points to get a smiley face. Karin accepts the challenge and promises to drive more carefully to score points and get a smiley face. This is the start of their skiing holiday journey without realising that this brief dialogue will influence their fate.

Act 3: Dangerous Ride

While driving on the motorway, Karin asks Dominik what the strange device in the car is all about. The children are now quiet and are watching a video. Dominik explains that it is autoSense, an intelligent digital platform that should make driving easier. He mentions that you can use it to charge the car, take out mileage based insurance, but in their case the company takes over this. Dominik also explains that he can accurately account for his professional trips with the law firm.

Meanwhile, the rain turns into snow that stays on the road. Karin and Dominik talk about AutoSense DriveScore and Karin drives more carefully to optimize the score accordingly. Suddenly, an SUV overtakes her, whirling up slush and hitting her windshield. Karin flees softly as the SUV skidds and approaches her. She can barely avoid the SUV thanks to Dominik's advice to drive defensively.

The children in the car only notice the danger at the last moment and cry out. Your Skoda is almost standing still, but luckily no one is driving up from behind. The SUV remains stuck to the guardrail, but the driver appears to be unharmed. After a short break, they continue their journey.

At the rest stop, they wait until the snowfall subsides. Dominik then takes over the wheel. The two little ones fall asleep quickly, and Karin and Dominik talk to Eli about their vacation plans, including visiting Eli's friend Juan. They plan to pick him up from the train station so they don't have to follow his schedule. Eli is looking forward to Juan, but also to being behind the wheel himself. She is aware of the responsibility that driving a car entails and that it also poses risks.

Act 4: A mountain of snow

The next day, there is unusual silence in the Schneider family's apartment. After arriving late the night before, the children Mia and Liam were put to bed, and the laborious unloading of the car began: skis, ski boots, hiking boots, snowshoes, suitcases, bags, poles, gloves and helmets — Dominik groans about the luggage. Karin and Eli organize the treasures that Dominik has brought in neatly in the cupboards and chests. After everything has found its place, the three treat themselves to a glass of wine, which turns out to be several, and the clock is already ticking into the new day.

At around half past ten the next morning, everyone gathers around the table and looks with sleepy eyes at the piling up of snow, which is still falling.

Dominik suggests taking a quiet day, but Karin suggests that he could go sledding with the kids. Mia and Liam are delighted. Karin plans to go to the local store to get food. However, Dominik surprises her by suggesting that she switch roles and take care of the food and the kitchen while she goes sledding. Karin reluctantly agrees.

After Karin and the children have set off, Dominik goes shopping. Eli asks him for the car keys and explains that she must go down to the valley with Juan. Dominik gives her the keys and asks her to be careful. Eli goes to the train station to pick Juan up. They spend some time in the snow and don't return until late. In the apartment, Dominik checks his cell phone and finds that the car is still parked at the train station.

Eli and Juan make their way to the parking lot and find that all cars are buried under a thick blanket of snow. Eli can't remember where she parked the car, and Juan asks for a whisk. Eli calls Dominik and explains the situation. Dominik gives her instructions on how to use the AutoSense app to find the car's location. Thanks to the app, they finally find the car and return home easier.

Now the holidays can finally begin.
