Entrepreneur and top athlete Stephan Fuhrer is impressed by autoSense and the Fuel app, which makes it significantly easier for him, who has been in a wheelchair with paraplegia for 20 years, to refuel his car independently. We met him at AMAG Volketswil for an interview.

I think autoSense is a great idea”,

says Stephan Fuhrer right away at the start of our conversation.

The app helps me to refuel my car independently and without outside help.”

Stephan Fuhrer, paraplegic since an accident at work, is currently buying a new car for his company, Fuhrer Gartenbau AG in Greifensee, which he successfully manages together with his brother. The dynamic Zurich Oberlander is an 8-time Swiss champion in 50 and 100 meters swimming, an active member of PlusSport and Swiss Paralympic. He is currently training for the European Championships in Madeira in May and the Paralympics in Tokyo in August 2020.

However, Stephan Fuhrer is also used to having to resort to help. When refueling, for example. The credit card slots and control panels on the gas pumps are often not accessible due to the height. Or the construction of the gas station prevents you from getting there in the first place due to a concrete barrier on the ground. That is why he regularly comes here to AMAG Volketswil, where someone always helps him when refueling.

With autoSense, he now regains some independence when refueling at the already available Migrol stations. The app allows him to select the gas pump and pay the amount due directly via smartphone and from the car. This makes refueling much more accessible and much easier with a wheelchair.

My daughter also uses autoSense”,

Stephan Fuhrer says laughing.

The benefits are great. The advantages have obviously not only convinced me”,

he grins. He says goodbye to us and goes straight on to the next appointment.
